About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer with 2+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend applications. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in programming, data structures and algorithms, database management, API development, and software engineering best practices.

You will collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to develop robust backend services that support business requirements and deliver an excellent user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services and applications.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate with frontend applications and third-party services.
• Design, develop, and optimize database schemas, queries, and data models.
• Write clean, maintainable, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, production issues, and software defects.
• Implement appropriate authentication, authorization, data validation, and security mechanisms.
• Write unit tests and integration tests to ensure software reliability.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, QA engineers, and other teams to deliver features.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions.
• Work with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes.
• Monitor application performance and contribute to improving system reliability and scalability.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language, such as Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or C++.
• Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and core computer science fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Good knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of database design, indexing, query optimization, and transaction management.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative software development workflows.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle, debugging, testing, and code quality practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with backend frameworks such as Spring Boot, Node.js/Express, Django, FastAPI, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Redis.
