Job Description

Job Title: Business Analyst V

Duration: 6 months

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid- 2 days onsite) - Could potentially change in the future


Job Description:

  • Assist with creation and maintenance of Value Chain (VC), Assessable Unit (AU), and Unique Business Process (UBP) inventories
  • Assess multiple individual processes concurrently, consolidate risks and controls across processes to eliminate duplication, and identify any gaps in processes as well as process inventory.
  • Assist with Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) documentation and engage other risk partners in RCSA execution.
  • Assist with RCSA interim updates as operational risk events/issues arise
  • Execute testing of key controls within established deadlines, applying client testing methodology.
  • Ensure that exceptions are appropriately analyzed, reported, and tracked to resolution. Further, support Client's Businesses in developing action/remediation plans to address internal control gaps as well as the root cause themes.
  • Support the assessment of Key Risk Indicators.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, realize efficiencies in testing (where possible) and deliver a better testing experience to Client's Businesses.
  • Assist with ad-hoc initiatives and strategies from a risk and control perspective.

 

Summary:

RCSA: Drafting process maps, engaging with stakeholders to assess process risks, controls, assessment of operations/procedures to establish or identify risks, identify controls.


Best Vs Average Candidate:

  • Strong communicator – a lot of stakeholder interaction
  • End to End Risk and Control Self-Assessment experience is needed for the role (not just operations experience)
  • Operational exp- derivative operations experience. Someone who has worked in wholesale operation environment. Can do some training on operations exp.
  • Dealing w/ traders/operations and front office staff- need very strong communication skills
  • Someone who can run with tasks independently
  • Hit the ground running
  • How will performance be measured: deliverables, ability to meet those deadlines. Will provide feedback on performance.

 

MUST HAVE:

  • Risk and Control Self-Assessment experience
  • Advance knowledge of governance, risk and control procedures, strategies & tactics
  • Prior audit experience, quality control testing experience
  • Strong MS Excel (formulas).
  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently
  • Ability to analyze, research, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines

  • Multi-tasking
  • Nice to have:
  • Wholesale operations experience.
  • Aris experience (tool for process maps)

 

Education:

  • Degree/Certifications Required: Bachelor’s Degree

 

Years of experience: 3 plus years of experience
