Job Description

Job Summary

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) assesses, diagnoses, and treats individuals with speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. The SLP works with children and/or adults to improve communication skills and quality of life through evidence-based therapy and intervention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Provide therapy services to improve communication and/or swallowing function
  • Monitor, document, and report patient progress
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, teachers, and healthcare professionals
  • Educate patients and families on treatment goals and strategies
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences
  • Ensure compliance with professional, organizational, and regulatory guidelines
  • Stay current with best practices, research, and continuing education

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • State licensure (or eligibility) as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA (or eligibility)
  • Knowledge of assessment tools and therapy techniques
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a specific setting (school, hospital, clinic, rehabilitation, or home health)
  • Experience working with pediatric and/or adult populations
  • Familiarity with assistive and augmentative communication (AAC) devices
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills (preferred in some settings)
