Job Summary


The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and market penetration of pharmaceutical products within the assigned geographic territory in New York. This role will develop and execute territory business plans, manage customer relationships, lead sales activities, and collaborate cross-functionally to achieve sales targets while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities


Drive Sales Performance:


Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for assigned products and territory.


Develop territory business plans and forecasts to support strategic objectives.

Customer Engagement & Relationship Management:


Build and strengthen relationships with healthcare professionals, key accounts, hospitals, and distribution partners.


Conduct regular field visits, customer calls, and presentations on product benefits, usage, and positioning.

Market Analysis & Strategy Execution:


Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities and risks.


Implement sales and marketing strategies in coordination with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Market Access, Training).

Team Collaboration:


Work closely with internal stakeholders (account management, marketing, customer support) to ensure seamless execution of business plans.


Provide feedback and market insights to support product launches and promotional initiatives.

Reporting & CRM Management:


Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions in the company CRM system.


Prepare and present regular reports on performance, forecasts, and pipeline to senior leadership.

Qualifications


Education:


Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business, or related field required. Advanced degree (MBA) preferred.

Experience:


Minimum 3–5 years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device sales experience with strong performance history; experience with sales planning and customer engagement in healthcare settings.
