Regulatory Affairs Specialist Aerospace


Position Summary:

The Regulatory Affairs Specialist ensures that all aerospace products, systems, and components comply with applicable aviation regulations and standards throughout their lifecycle. This role supports certification, documentation, and regulatory submissions to agencies such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA). The specialist collaborates with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure products meet safety, airworthiness, and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and submit regulatory documentation for product certification and airworthiness approvals (e.g., PMA, TSO, STC, TC, DOA/POA).
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with FAA, EASA, TCCA, and other national aviation authorities’ regulations (e.g., 14 CFR Part 21, 23, 25, 145, etc.).
  • Support and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and other aerospace standards.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews, ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Review and approve technical documentation, including design data, engineering changes, test reports, and conformity records.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, supply chain, quality) to ensure compliance throughout design, manufacture, and maintenance.
  • Track and manage certification timelines, renewals, and regulatory submissions for domestic and international markets.
  • Monitor and interpret changes to aviation regulations and communicate the impact to internal stakeholders.
  • Support risk management, CAPA, and continuous improvement initiatives related to regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records in document control systems and ensure all compliance documentation is audit-ready.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Regulatory Science, Aerospace, or related field.
  • Experience in regulatory affairs, certification, or compliance within the aerospace industry.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA, EASA, and TCCA certification processes and regulations.
  • Experience with AS9100 QMS, Part 21, Part 145, and Part 25 standards.
  • Familiarity with aircraft system certification, product approvals, and configuration management.
  • Proficiency in tools such as SAP, Windchill, Teamcenter, or document control systems.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a regulated environment.
