Location: Washington, D.C. (with domestic & foreign travel as needed) Salary: $75,134 – $129,251 per year (LE-0083-01) Type: Full-Time, Excepted Service (Schedule B Appointment: 3 years & 120 days with potential conversion to career service) Clearance Required: Top Secret Drug Test: Yes Summary The U.S. Secret Service Uniformed Division is responsible for protecting facilities, venues, and individuals secured for U.S. Secret Service protectees, including the White House, Vice President''s residence, and foreign missions. Officers uphold the highest traditions of honor, integrity, and excellence. Duties Safeguard the White House, Vice President''s residence, foreign missions, embassies, and other protected facilities. Provide security for Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign head-of-state missions (domestic and abroad). Enforce mandated protective duties under Title 18, U.S. Code, Section 3056A. Carry and maintain proficiency with firearms. Complete protective assignments requiring discretion, discipline, and readiness. Requirements Citizenship: U.S. citizen. Age: At least 20 years old (must be under 37 at time of conditional offer; veterans under 40). License: Possess a valid U.S. driver''s license (REAL ID required after May 7, 2025). Drug Testing: Pre-employment and random testing. Training: 12 weeks at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC). 18 weeks at the James J. Rowley Training Center. Physical Standards: Pass the Applicant Physical Abilities Test (push-ups, sit-ups, agility run, 1.5-mile run). Medical Standards: Meet vision, hearing, and general health requirements. Security: Obtain and retain a Top-Secret clearance. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be 21 years of age at the time of appointment. Strong ability to follow orders, remain calm under pressure, act ethically, and interact professionally in challenging situations. Additional Information Recruitment Incentive: Up to $50,000, paid in installments over four years of service. Relocation Expenses: May be reimbursed. Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, rotating shifts (day, evening, night).
