Job Description
A Manual Tester is responsible for ensuring the quality of software applications by manually executing test cases, identifying bugs, and verifying that all functionalities meet business and technical requirements. The role involves collaboration with developers, QA teams, and business analysts to deliver defect-free software products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze requirements and prepare detailed test cases and test plans.
- Perform manual testing of web, mobile, and desktop applications.
- Identify, log, and track software defects using bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
- Conduct regression, functional, integration, and system testing.
- Communicate test results and provide feedback to the development team.
- Participate in test reviews and ensure test coverage.
- Work closely with QA automation teams to identify test cases for automation.
Skills Required:
- Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC.
- Experience in writing and executing test cases.
- Knowledge of defect tracking tools (Jira, TestRail, etc.).
- Familiarity with different testing types — Functional, Regression, Integration, Smoke, and UAT.
- Good analytical and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 0–3 years of experience in manual testing.
- Basic understanding of SQL and API testing is a plus.
