Job Description
A network engineer is responsible for designing, configuring, implementing, and supporting the physical and virtual network infrastructure that powers an organization’s connectivity. These professionals install and maintain critical hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points, ensuring stable communication between internal systems, remote offices, and cloud environments. Network engineers also play a key role in network expansion, equipment upgrades, and disaster recovery readiness.
Unlike network administrators who focus on day-to-day upkeep, network engineers are typically responsible for more complex tasks such as new deployments, performance tuning, and escalation support for critical issues. Their responsibilities often span both enterprise and cloud networks, and they work closely with architects, security teams, and vendors to implement scalable and secure solutions that align with business needs.
