PHP Developer – Job Description
Role Summary:
A PHP Developer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing web applications using PHP and related technologies. The role includes writing clean, secure, and scalable code, integrating databases, and working with front-end teams to deliver complete web solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain web applications using PHP (Core PHP/Laravel/CodeIgniter/Symfony).
- Write clean, efficient, and reusable code following best practices.
- Integrate backend services and APIs.
- Manage and optimize MySQL or other relational databases.
- Work with front-end developers to integrate HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Debug, test, and fix issues to improve performance and functionality.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to implementation plans.
- Develop RESTful APIs and ensure secure data handling.
- Maintain documentation for processes and code.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of PHP, OOP concepts, and MVC frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Laravel / CodeIgniter / Symfony (as per project).
- Good understanding of MySQL, database design, queries, and optimization.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, XML.
- Knowledge of version control tools like Git.
- Understanding of server environments (Apache, Nginx).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Composer, Blade templates, or Twig.
- Knowledge of API authentication (JWT/OAuth).
- Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, DigitalOcean).
- Basic understanding of DevOps pipelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of experience in PHP development (for mid-level; freshers can also apply for junior roles).
