Job Title: Laboratory Assistant Duration: 12 Months Location: Johnston, Iowa Shift: Monday to Friday, 1st shift Description: This role provides hands-on laboratory support for PCR-based molecular workflows that enable the generation of reliable, high-quality data in support of research testing. The position supports daily laboratory operations through sample handling, nucleic acid extraction, reagent preparation, and experimental setup. In addition, the role contributes to contamination control efforts and routine instrument upkeep while ensuring accurate documentation and maintaining data integrity. Requirements Associate's Degree in Life Science (Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related field) or Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related field) is strongly preferred Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) Hands on life sciences laboratory experience (i.e. Biology, Microbiology, Molecular biology, Genetics etc) Ability to follow standard operating procedures (required) Pipetting experience (required) Reagent preparation Sample collection and processing DNA/RNA extraction PCR based molecular biology techniques including qPCR, RT-qPCR, and/or dPCR Sterile technique Competencies/soft skills Strong attention to detail and record keeping Organizational and time-management skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel Applicant Notices & Disclaimers For information on benefits, equal opportunity employment, and location-specific applicant notices, click here At SPECTRAFORCE, we are committed to maintaining a workplace that ensures fair compensation and wage transparency in adherence with all applicable state and local laws.
