Job Description

Position Title: Biological Inoculation I Work Location: Swiftwater, PA Assignment Duration: 12 Months Shift Schedule - 2nd Shift, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM Job Description Receive carts of embryonated eggs delivered by hatchery trucks at the egg dock. Unload egg carts from trucks and move them into a warm room for holding. Perform quality inspection on sampled eggs prior to processing. Transfer inspected egg carts from the warm room to the Inoculation Load Room. Remove egg trays from carts and place them onto a conveyor belt. Operate within the inoculation process where eggs pass through an inoculation machine. Load trays of inoculated eggs onto incubation carts (136 trays per cart). Move incubation carts (two employees per cart) into incubators. Support daily operations involving approximately 4–5 trucks and ~650,000 eggs per day. Unload incubation carts after incubation time is met and move them to the next process stage. Perform continuous operations seven days a week throughout the campaign. Break down, clean, and set up equipment before, during, and after production. Follow all SOPs and cGMP guidelines at all times. Physical & Job Requirements Ability to push or pull wheeled carts weighing up to 800 lbs (two-person operation). Lift and move egg trays weighing approximately 5 lbs each at a fast pace. Perform straightening and inspection of eggs efficiently and accurately. Rotate between job functions (loading carts, straightening eggs, inspecting eggs) approximately every 20 minutes. Perform physical tasks including reaching, twisting, bending, squatting, repetitive motion, and lifting 30+ lbs. Stand and remain on feet for 8–10 hour shifts (excluding breaks). Work comfortably in a sterile manufacturing environment. Work Environment & Compliance Wear required PPE including scrubs, hair and beard covers, surgical masks, gloves, sleeves, safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, and Tyvek suits (area dependent). Maintain a sterile, scent-free environment: No jewelry or makeup permitted. No perfume, cologne, hairspray, aftershave, or scented products. No artificial nails or nail polish allowed. Work in antigen production areas involving active viruses (minimal exposure risk). Required vaccinations include Flu, Menactra, and Yellow Fever (based on area assignment). Schedule & Flexibility Must be flexible with work hours; schedules may vary based on production needs. Required to stay until assigned job tasks are completed. Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required. Days off may be non-consecutive and vary weekly (rotating schedule). Working hours subject to change based on production demand. Employees may be assigned mid-week days off or rotating shifts. Qualifications Basic computer skills required. 0–3 years of relevant experience.
