Job Description
Job Title: Equipment & Tool Engineer Duration: 12 Months Location: North Charleston, SC Shifts: 1st shift 5:00 AM - 2:00 PM Summary: Evaluates program and project requirements, develops complex equipment and tooling concepts, and designs solutions for the Production System. Compiles and analyzes technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design and rate estimates, identifies robotics, automation, or technology recommendations, and system integration for equipment and tooling. Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors, and regulatory requirements. Validates contractual performance milestones, maintains configuration control, conducts reviews, and prepares plans for production readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares. Conducts training for Production and Maintenance personnel. Develops and implements workarounds and maintains the configuration of hardware, software, and documentation. Performs studies and make recommendation for the disposition of assets. Primary Responsibilities: Designs, analyzes, and modifies aerospace manufacturing equipment and tooling that meet stakeholder requirements. Researches, develops, evaluates, and integrates robotics, automation, and new technologies and processes related to equipment and tooling for applicability to programs and products. Teams with cross-functional subject matter experts to develop and review bids and procurement specifications. Estimates, plans, manages, and executes the acquisition and modification of equipment and tooling. Develops and implements testing and acceptance to validate performance. Creates and maintains related documentation for equipment and tooling, develops preventative maintenance plans, and trains personnel as needed. Develops and implements interim solutions for damaged and unsafe equipment and tooling. Investigates engineering changes and controls equipment and tooling configuration in accordance with company procedures. Develops and recommends equipment reliability improvements through the application of reliability engineering tooling. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement. 3 or more years of experience working in a production and/or manufacturing environment. 3 or more years of experience using Microsoft Office and office computing systems. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience in Model-Based Definition, CATIA, ENOVIA, and PDM. Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience providing product definitions and technical support to groups, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
