Job Title: Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Virtualization Senior Consultant Duration: 240 hours Location: Remote To successfully perform the tasks listed across RC1, RC2, and RC3, a professional would need the following technical skills: 1. OpenShift & Kubernetes Administration Core Platform: Deep expertise in OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) architecture, installation (Agent-Based Installer), and CLI usage. Multi-Cluster Management: Experience with Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (RHACM) for importing clusters, observability, and policy enforcement. GitOps: Proficiency with ArgoCD (OpenShift GitOps) for declarative cluster management and compliance. 2. Virtualization & Infrastructure Hypervisor Tech: Knowledge of KVM/QEMU and OpenShift Virtualization operators (HyperConverged). Bare Metal Management: Ability to work with Baseboard Management Controllers (BMC), IPMI, and Redfish protocols for controlling physical server power and boot processes. Migration: Experience converting VMs from legacy platforms (VMware) using the Migration Toolkit for Virtualization (MTV). 3. Networking & Storage Enterprise Networking: Understanding of DNS, VIPs, Load Balancers, VLANs, and firewall rules required for hub-spoke architectures. Storage Orchestration: Proficiency with Container Storage Interfaces (CSI), specifically with Portworx, to manage persistent storage for VMs and containers. Knowledge of the iSCSI protocol. 4. Enterprise Integrations Security: Experience with TLS certificate management, PKI, and integrating HashiCorp Vault (via External Secrets Operator). Identity: Configuring OAuth/LDAP for role-based access control (RBAC). Observability: Integration of log forwarding to Splunk and metrics monitoring with Nexus 5. Automation & Scripting Lifecycle Automation: Skills in scripting cluster tear-down, provision, and reprovision procedures. Ansible: Knowledge of Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) for automating component configuration (listed as a stretch goal).
