Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Mid-Level Pastry Expert to join our culinary team in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pastry arts, a creative flair for developing new recipes, and a commitment to delivering high-quality baked goods. You will play a key role in producing a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked items, ensuring consistency, taste, and presentation meet our high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, bake, and decorate a wide range of pastries, desserts, and specialty baked goods.
- Develop and test new recipes, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current trends.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to plan menus and special events.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and minimize waste.
- Train and mentor junior staff as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in pastry arts.
Qualifications:
- 3-7 years of professional experience in pastry or baking roles.
- Proven expertise in pastry preparation, baking techniques, and dessert presentation.
- Formal education in Baking and Pastry Arts or related field preferred.
- ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and creativity.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
