Job Title: Design Engineer Location: Hawthorne, NJ - Hybrid Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary The Design Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate and efficient vertical and horizontal concrete formwork drawings for complex construction projects. This role supports projects across civil, infrastructure, commercial, industrial, and residential sectors by delivering safe, economical, and constructible design solutions using standard formwork systems. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed concrete formwork drawings using AutoCAD for various construction projects Develop vertical and horizontal formwork layouts based on customer and project requirements Produce AutoCAD drawings during proposal stages and finalize construction-ready drawings for site use Prepare accurate material lists and take-offs for quotations and site shipments Coordinate with sales teams and customers to ensure clear communication of design requirements Monitor drawing progress against project schedules to meet deadlines Review specifications, sketches, and design data to ensure compliance and constructability Revise designs to address production, constructability, or operational issues Ensure designs reflect safe, economical, and efficient use of formwork equipment Design solutions aligned with available inventory Qualifications 5–7 years of relevant design or drafting experience Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Drafting, or related field Architectural Drafting Design Certificate (required) AutoCAD Certification (required) Applicant Notices & Disclaimers For information on benefits, equal opportunity employment, and location-specific applicant notices, click here At SPECTRAFORCE, we are committed to maintaining a workplace that ensures fair compensation and wage transparency in adherence with all applicable state and local laws.
