Job Description

Job Title - Quality Engineer II Location - Redford, Michigan Duration – 24 months (Potential conversion) Shift – Mon - Fri 3pm - 11pm (Afternoon Shift) Job Description: Coordinates quality objectives with other departments Drives continuous improvement by developing and implementing error and mistake proofing. Keeps management abreast of progress, developments and pending problems Drive issues to closure through the various quality feedback loops Analyzes assembly process data to look for trends or possible upcoming concerns. Works with Advanced Quality Tools (i.e., PFMEAs) to ensure a quality assembly process Keeps management abreast of progress, developments and pending problems Analyzes SPC data and works with manufacturing engineering to make process improvements Knowledge of GD&T and CMM operations Facilitate others in the executions of Quality Improvement activities To work in a plant environment, working hands-on with engine assembly and internal tools Must Haves: Requires a bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience Requires working knowledge and expanded professional experience in job field Requires understanding of key business drivers Works independently within guidelines and policies to solve problems of moderate complexity Provides in normal guidance to new team members May lead projects or processes as required Exceptional Candidates Might Have: Experience with PFMEAs, Knowledge of GD&T and CMM operations Experience in manufacturing environment. Potentially consider candidates with a wealth of experience but no degree. Product knowledge of transmissions, Axles, Engines SPC/MSA/PFMEA experience. KPI: Problem solving skills ability to lead meetings, deeply involved with Alex, ability to collaborate and manage various personalities. Ability to produce campaigns and finding solutions for problems that arise throughout the day. Day to Day Responsibilities: Working directly with operations team, collaborating with them throughout the night documenting progress and issues and working into next shift setting them up for success. 20% meetings 80% on the floor with the team. Collaborate with day shift to prepare for their afternoon shift and keep the ball rolling from what day shift has started.
