Job Description
Job Title: UX Designer III — Design Systems & Device UX Duration: 6 months contract (extension possible) Location: Seattle, WA (Can be remote but they will eventually need to relocate to Seattle, WA) Job Description: We are looking for a UX Designer with strong design systems expertise and device-based UX experience to support Fire TV and Tablet product ecosystems. This role blends design system component work + documentation + guidelines with hands-on workflow and enterprise UX design. You will act as a bridge between product designers and system teams — defining components, patterns, and usage rules, while also designing real product workflows and partner-facing tools. What You Will Do: Design Systems (50–60%) Design device UI components (buttons, cards, navigation, browsing patterns) Define component anatomy, states, and accessibility behavior Create use-case documentation (when to use / when not to use) Write Human Interface Guidelines for 3P developers Document 10-foot UI patterns (focus, remote nav, voice interaction) Run weekly design governance office hours Audit design system usage across teams Guide designers on correct component usage Product & Workflow UX (40–50%) Design enterprise & internal tool workflows Create complex multi-step user flows Design partner & developer dashboards Support marketing & promotional device experiences Contribute hands-on UX and interaction design (not just advisory) Must-Have Qualifications: Design Systems (Core Requirement) 3–5 years design systems experience Component libraries & pattern documentation Tokens, components, patterns, usage rules Strong design documentation writing Portfolio showing component + system work UX/UI Skills Strong visual + interaction design Complex workflow / multi-step UX Accessibility & interactive states Figma expert (components + systems + prototyping) Collaboration Works independently (remote contractor mode) Strong stakeholder handling Comfortable consulting without authority Fast-paced, ambiguous environments Nice to Have: Technical HTML/CSS basics Design tokens (JSON / CSS variables) Storybook / UXPin Merge / Zeroheight WCAG AA accessibility Device UX Smart TV / 10-foot UI Remote & D-pad navigation Tablet / touch UX Applicant Notices & Disclaimers For information on benefits, equal opportunity employment, and location-specific applicant notices, click here At SPECTRAFORCE, we are committed to maintaining a workplace that ensures fair compensation and wage transparency in adherence with all applicable state and local laws.
