Job Title: Quality Engineer – Automotive Industry
Overview
A Quality Engineer (QE) in the automotive sector ensures that vehicles, components, and manufacturing processes meet customer and regulatory quality standards. They play a key role in maintaining product reliability, reducing defects, and supporting continuous improvement across production lines and suppliers.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of automotive quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, 8D.
- Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Core Tools.
- Proficient in statistical analysis and quality software (e.g., Minitab, Q-DAS, Excel).
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and presentation skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering (or related field).
- 2–5 years of experience in automotive quality or manufacturing engineering.
- Certifications (preferred):
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE – ASQ)
- Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
- IATF 16949 Internal Auditor
