Job Summary:

The Project Manager in Manufacturing oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of manufacturing projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing resources, and implementing process improvements to enhance production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Execution:
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for manufacturing initiatives (e.g., new product launch, equipment upgrades, facility expansion).
  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Resource Management:
  • Coordinate with engineering, production, quality, and supply chain teams to allocate resources effectively.
  • Manage contractors, vendors, and third-party partners as needed.
  • Risk & Quality Management:
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure projects comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA).
  • Communication & Reporting:
  • Provide regular status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate meetings to resolve issues and ensure project alignment across departments.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Analyze manufacturing workflows to identify bottlenecks and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (Master’s preferred for senior roles).
  • 3–7 years of experience in project management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and supply chain operations.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality management systems.
