Job Summary:
The Business Analyst (BA) in the financial industry acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring financial products, services, and systems meet organizational and regulatory requirements. The BA analyzes business processes, gathers requirements, and helps design solutions to improve efficiency, compliance, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirements Gathering & Analysis
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
- Conduct workshops, interviews, and document business processes.
- Create user stories, process flows, and use cases.
- Financial Domain Expertise
- Analyze banking, insurance, investment, or fintech operations to recommend improvements.
- Ensure solutions comply with regulatory frameworks like Basel III, SOX, GDPR, or local financial regulations.
- Assist in risk assessment and mitigation for financial products or systems.
- Solution Design & Implementation Support
- Work with technical teams to design and implement solutions that meet business requirements.
- Validate system designs, perform UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Support implementation of financial software, ERP systems, trading platforms, or reporting tools.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and process documentation.
- Generate reports and dashboards to provide insights into business performance.
- Track project progress and report key metrics to stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Management
- Communicate effectively with business users, project managers, IT developers, and compliance teams.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders to ensure mutual understanding.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field. MBA preferred.
- Experience: 3–7 years in business analysis, preferably in banking, investment, insurance, or fintech.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, Tableau, or Power BI for reporting and data analysis.
- Familiarity with ERP, core banking systems, or financial trading platforms.
- Understanding of financial regulations, compliance standards, and risk management.
- Soft Skills:
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Attention to detail and process orientation.
