Job Summary:

The QA Manager in the automotive industry is responsible for leading the quality assurance function to ensure that automotive products meet internal standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations. This role involves managing QA teams, implementing quality control processes, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to maintain product reliability and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Management & Compliance

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and customer-specific requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits, process inspections, and product quality reviews.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and manage QA engineers, inspectors, and technicians.
  • Set performance goals, provide training, and monitor team performance.
  • Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement across the organization.

Process Improvement & Risk Management

  • Identify quality issues, root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Analyze quality data, metrics, and trends to prevent defects and enhance product reliability.

Supplier & Vendor Quality Management

  • Evaluate and monitor supplier quality performance.
  • Conduct supplier audits and support supplier development programs.
  • Ensure incoming materials meet quality specifications and standards.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare quality reports, KPIs, and metrics for senior management.
  • Maintain documentation for compliance, certifications, and customer audits.
  • Ensure all quality records are accurate and readily available for regulatory purposes.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Address customer complaints and warranty claims related to product quality.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to resolve quality issues promptly.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on quality standards and specifications.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Master’s preferred.
  • Experience: 7–12 years in quality assurance in the automotive industry, including 3–5 years in a managerial role.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
  • Proficiency in quality tools: FMEA, SPC, Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production systems, and automotive components.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
