Job Summary:
A Radiologist is a licensed medical doctor specializing in diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries using medical imaging techniques such as X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. Radiologists play a critical role in interpreting diagnostic tests and guiding clinical teams in patient care decisions.
🩻 Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret medical imaging results (X-ray, CT, MRI, PET, ultrasound, etc.)
- Provide detailed, accurate diagnostic reports to referring physicians.
- Collaborate with other specialists (surgeons, oncologists, etc.) to determine appropriate imaging studies and clinical management.
- Perform or supervise image-guided procedures (e.g., biopsies, drainages, injections).
- Ensure high-quality imaging techniques and adherence to radiation safety protocols.
- Consult directly with patients in some cases (especially interventional radiology).
- Review prior imaging studies and integrate with current findings for comparative analysis.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in imaging technology and practices.
- Participate in on-call rotations as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
🎓 Qualifications:
- Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a residency in Radiology.
- Board certification or board eligibility in Radiology (e.g., ABR, FRCR).
- Valid and unrestricted medical license in [State/Country].
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic imaging techniques and interpretation.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
