Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Job Summary
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats individuals with speech, language, voice, fluency, swallowing, and communication disorders. The SLP works collaboratively with patients, families, educators, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that improve functional communication and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results
- Provide therapy services to individuals or groups across various age populations
- Monitor progress, adjust treatment plans, and document outcomes accurately
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy strategies and home programs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including teachers, physicians, occupational therapists, and psychologists
- Maintain accurate clinical records in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards
- Participate in IEP meetings (school settings) or care planning meetings (medical settings)
- Stay current with evidence-based practices and continuing education requirements
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current state licensure (or eligibility) as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA (preferred or required)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with the specific population served (pediatric, adult, geriatric)
- Knowledge of AAC systems and assistive technology
- Bilingual or multilingual skills (where applicable)
