Regulatory Affairs Specialist – Aerospace
Job Summary
The Regulatory Affairs Specialist is responsible for ensuring company products, systems, and operations comply with applicable aerospace regulatory requirements and industry standards. This role serves as a key liaison between the organization and regulatory authorities, supporting certification, approvals, audits, and ongoing compliance across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Certification
- Interpret and apply aerospace regulations (e.g., FAA, EASA, DoD, NASA, CAA) to company products and processes
- Support type certification, production certification, airworthiness approvals, and continued operational safety activities
- Prepare, submit, and maintain regulatory documentation, compliance matrices, and approval packages
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess impact on current and future programs
Authority & Stakeholder Interface
- Act as the primary point of contact with regulatory authorities and designated representatives (DERs, ODA, DOA)
- Support and participate in regulatory audits, inspections, and conformity reviews
- Coordinate responses to findings, corrective actions, and regulatory inquiries
Internal Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program Management
- Provide regulatory guidance during product development, design changes, and configuration management
- Support risk assessments and compliance strategies for new technologies and programs
Documentation & Training
- Maintain controlled regulatory documentation and records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
- Develop internal procedures, compliance plans, and regulatory guidance documents
- Provide regulatory training and awareness sessions to internal teams
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Aviation, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, or related field
Experience
- experience in regulatory affairs, certification, or compliance within the aerospace or aviation industry
- Hands-on experience with at least one major regulatory authority (FAA, EASA, etc.)
Technical & Regulatory Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of aerospace regulations and standards such as:
- 14 CFR / FARs, CS, MIL-STDs
- AS9100, AS9110, AS9120
- Configuration management and airworthiness requirements
- Familiarity with certification processes, conformity inspections, and change management
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
