Nurse Midwife / Certified Nurse Midwife

Job Summary

The Nurse Midwife provides comprehensive healthcare services to women across the lifespan, with a primary focus on pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, and gynecologic health. Working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, the Nurse Midwife delivers evidence-based, patient-centered care while promoting wellness, education, and informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to patients
• Conduct labor and delivery management for low-risk pregnancies
• Perform gynecologic examinations, including Pap smears and breast exams
• Prescribe medications, treatments, and contraceptive methods as authorized
• Diagnose and manage common obstetric and gynecologic conditions
• Provide family planning, preconception, and menopausal care
• Educate patients and families on pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians and healthcare teams for high-risk cases or complications
• Maintain accurate, timely medical records in compliance with regulations
• Advocate for patient autonomy, culturally competent care, and safety
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nurse Midwifery
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) certification from an accredited body (e.g., AMCB)
• State licensure and prescriptive authority as required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support certifications (e.g., ACLS, NRP)
