Job Description

Ministry Purpose:

Love God, Love Others by upholding the ministry values of Stonebriar Community Church (SCC), cultivating intimacy with God, and leading others toward Christian maturity. This position will provide graphic design for the Communications Team. He or she will work with the Communications Team to create attractive communication pieces that effectively meet objectives while maintaining Stonebriar’s branding and standard of excellence.

Ministry Responsibilities:

• Including but not limited to:
• Answer basic questions about the church’s faith, providing religious resources or praying with someone if requested.
• Coordinate and communicate with supervisor regarding responsibilities to be managed on site or remotely.
• Be available by cell phone outside regular office hours (stipend will be provided).

Graphic Design

§ Work closely with the Senior Graphic Designer to design and develop digital and print communication pieces, incorporating Stonebriar’s branding and style guidelines.

§ Produce quality design work in a timely manner to meet ministry needs.

§ Collaborate with the Communications Coordinator as necessary to ensure projects are completed and delivered under deadline.

§ Must be available (as directed) on Sundays and for any special events that may occur day or evening throughout the week.

§ Stay abreast of new and emergent graphic design trends, software, and printing techniques.

§ Perform support duties for Communications activities (e.g., photography, etc.) as directed.

Competency

The ideal candidate for this position has:

• A strong work ethic and initiative.
• Patience and social skills to relate well to the public.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications with Graphic Design emphasis or equivalent desired.
• Three or more years of experience in graphic design.
• A portfolio that shows strengths in branding awareness, logo development, and campaign design.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator.
• Proficiency in Mac OS X.
• A teachable attitude and the ability to respond positively to constructive criticism.
• Creativity, self-motivation, and the ability to function well in a team environment.
• Knowledge of printing techniques and terminology.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
• Fine arts and/or photography skills are a plus.
• Stonebriar Community Church membership and attendance preferred.

Salary: 50-50k

Job Status:

• Full-Time: 37.5 hours per week
