Job Summary:

The Postpartum RN provides compassionate, evidence-based care to mothers and newborns following childbirth. This includes monitoring the physical and emotional well-being of both the mother and baby, providing education, and supporting the family during the postpartum stay.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor vital signs and recovery of postpartum mothers.
• Assess and care for newborns, including feeding support and screenings.
• Assist with breastfeeding and provide lactation education.
• Administer medications and manage pain control.
• Educate parents on newborn care, postpartum recovery, and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with OB/GYNs, pediatricians, lactation consultants, and other staff.
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (State of [Insert State]).
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required).
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification (preferred or required).
• 1+ year of experience in maternal/newborn care (preferred but not required).
• Strong communication and patient education skills.
