Role: Python Developer
Location: Cupertino, CA (100% Onsite)

Description:
As a Tools Team member, your main responsibility is to design, develop, test, and maintain SW based tools to increase efficiency and capability of Acoustic hardware engineering teams. To succeed, you will need to be able to seamlessly translate the engineering needs into software tool requirements and develop the most efficient and robust package to address the gap in the test and development process of new products. You will be responsible for multiple software projects, and should be comfortable balancing competing priorities and able to shift focus when new requirements arise. These projects cover a wide scope of engineering applications including HW test equipment control, database interfaces, data analysis and visualization.
You will be working and collaborating closely with cross functional teams which requires excellent communication skills. You must also be comfortable being challenged by other team members and our customers and be open to new ideas and suggestions. You are expected to update your development skills and research new tools that improve team efficiency.
Summary:
The Tool Team’s core responsibility is to develop custom software tools to address the day to day operational needs of the Acoustics team. This covers a wide range of applications: from software suites for lab teams to web applications and data post processing, storage, and visualization. Our team works closely with Acoustics engineers and project managers to scope, develop, test and deploy software tools to both US and other teams across the world.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong Python experience. At least 3+ years.
- Experience building professional applications with complex business logic.
- Capable of learning new software languages such as Matlab or Swift.
- Proficiency in Git, CI/CD, and software automated testing like unit tests.
- Comfortable communicating with Acoustic engineers in a collaborative environment.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, collaborative and curious contributor with a proactive communication and demonstrated ability to lead projects and achieve results.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Objective-C, Swift, Matlab, or JMP is a plus.
- Basic networking knowledge, and experience with AWS micro services or other server-side technologies is a big plus.
- Familiarity with macOS and iOS development environment.
- Acoustic engineering knowledge including signal processing and audio analysis and algorithms is highly desirable.
Education & Experience:
- Most of our engineers have advanced degrees in Computer Science or an equivalent field, but if you’ve followed a different path to expertise in software development, infrastructure design and development, data science or AI/ML, we still want to hear from you.
- We are ideally looking for someone with 3+ years of professional experience in SDE and/or SDET.
