Duration: 12 months(Possibility to FTE/Extension)




Summary:


This role allows the candidate(s) to work in an established institution and with multiple groups within the Client, which will allow candidate(s) to build effective skills and confidence. The individual is exposed to other lines of business, as there are lots of opportunities for learning, growth, and development. Working with a collaborative team and great leaders, the candidate will always be challenged and is set up for success, where there is an opportunity to build resilience and enhance communication skills!




Group Culture:


This individual will be working in a collaborative, professional, and friendly environment. MS Teams is available throughout the day for team members to communicate. Teams are very supportive of one another. The ideal candidate is an experienced Scrum Master with excellent people and project management skills, able to communicate clearly and concisely with team members and stakeholders.




Key Responsibilities:



  • Organize and facilitate agile activities and ceremonies including daily stand-up meetings, sprint reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, and product backlog refinement sessions

  • Ensure that all meetings are positive, productive, stay on topic, and are kept within the timebox

  • Collaborate closely with the product owner to manage the backlog

  • Effectively manage user story estimation and forecasting.

  • Champion and facilitate the adoption of agile standards, tools, and best practices

  • Coach team on established IT and corporate standards (e.g., security, quality, and architecture) to minimize operational and reputational risk

  • Proactively identify and resolve impediments to team progress

  • Report risks and issues

  • Communicate with leaders across the organization to ensure transparency into delivery progress, challenges, and risks

  • Utilize team feedback and metrics (e.g., quality, delivery, cadence, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity and work with the team to continuously improve

  • Coach the team to improve collaboration and self-management, promoting healthy interactions both within the team and with external stakeholders

  • Represent the team at broader planning and coordination sessions (e.g., Scrum of Scrums)

  • Support the team in using agile planning and development tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Rally)

  • Experiment with new practices and frameworks to improve team outcomes

  • Actively participate in learning opportunities such as communities of practice or conferences to improve skills and better support the team

  • Contribute to the advancement and improvement of agile practices within the organization

  • Report team performance, and delivery metrics

  • Participate in program governance and audit activities




Must-Have Skills:



  • Strong verbal and written communication skills - Ability to get the point across

  • 5-10 years of experience with agile development

  • 10 years of scrum master experience

  • Agile, scrum, or project management certification preferred (e.g. CSM, CSP, PMP, SAFe)

  • Background in Banking/Finance industry is preferred




Nice-to-Have Skills:



  • Previous banking / FI experience

  • Presenting to senior management/conflict management with team and expectation management with stakeholders

  • Deep knowledge of agile practices, frameworks, and techniques

  • Excellent people and project management skills

  • Coaching skills and ability to motivate teams

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with agile planning and development tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Rally)

  • Ad-hoc reporting from JIRA

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing

  • Fast-learner

  • Self-managing and driven, meeting all required deadlines




Education:



  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent years of experience)
