Mortgage Underwriter

Value Proposition: 

• Current DE Certification
• Experience with VA loans - Must have either SAR or LAPP Certification (prefer both)
• Must have experience with encompass LOS
• Experience with paperless environment.
• Experience working with low FICO loans.
• Must also have manual underwriting background.

Responsibilities Include:

• Perform analysis to ensure the quality of each loan and to determine compliance with Company and Investor guidelines.
• Perform analysis of collateral to ensure property meets investor guidelines and the appraisal quality and completeness is acceptable.
• Apply and interprets company underwriting guidelines.
• Complete credit, analysis of income, analysis of property, ensures proper audits are completed and verify consistency of loan file information.
• Identify risk factors within each loan.
• Determine conditions, stipulations or pre-funding requirements.
• Review and clear underwriting conditions, stipulations or pre-funding requirements received.
• Complete second signature underwriting review on loan files underwritten by junior underwriters.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of FHA mortgage underwriting work experience.
• Experience with Encompass LOS
• Paperless Loan Origination System experience preferred.
• FHA Direct Endorsement designation and/or VA SAR designation.
• DU and LP experience required.
• Experience working in a paperless environment preferred.
• Good work stability
