As the EHS Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring full-time EHS support for our Terre Haute operations, guaranteeing compliance with local and state regulations. You will take charge of spearheading initiatives for safety and environmental program enhancement and maintenance.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
- Assist the facility in promoting and implementing an EHS culture, which secures effective implementation of policies, procedures and responsibilities.
- Assist the development, implementation and continual enhancement of EHS management systems at the facility.
- Assist department managers, supervisors and employees with implementation of creative approaches to improve safety, minimize environmental footprint/liability, and EHS initiatives.
- Participate in EHS inspections and assessments to assure compliance with regulatory requirements, EHS initiatives and Key Performance Measures (KPM) expectations, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide recommendations.
- Assist in the development, maintenance, implementation, and annual review of EHS policies, procedures and responsibilities.
- Participates in monitoring activities necessary to ensure compliance with EHS regulations and initiatives, including material, process and equipment review, emission and waste tracking, industrial hygiene, noise, ergonomics, visible emissions, odors, water discharges, control system parameters, etc.
- Provide recommendations and ensure proper follow up and resolution of all concerns identified through assessments, inspections, monitoring activities or other means.
- Assists the facility incident investigation process to ensure incidents are reported in a timely manner, root causes are identified, and corrective actions are tracked through closure.
- Evaluate new materials and material use to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, promote a safe work environment and protect the environment.
- Work with engineering in the design and installation of new or altered equipment or processes with the goal of eliminating or reducing safety hazards and environmental impact.
- Develop and maintain Job Safety/Hazard Assessments and environmental impact assessments.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU
- Bachelors degree in EHS, Engineering, or related field, or the equivalent in work experience.
- 1 to 3 years of experience within EHS.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
