Internal Medicine Physician
Job Summary:
The Internal Medicine Physician provides comprehensive primary care, diagnoses, treats, and manages adult patients with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. This role emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and preventive health strategies to improve overall patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions in adult patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and monitor progress.
- Provide preventive care, including screenings, immunizations, and lifestyle counseling.
- Collaborate with specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Prescribe medications and treatments appropriately, monitoring for efficacy and adverse effects.
- Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatments, and health maintenance.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and continuing medical education.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine.
- Valid and unrestricted medical license in the practicing state.
- Strong knowledge of adult medicine, including preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based, multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR/EMR) systems.
- Experience in outpatient, inpatient, or academic medical settings.
- Interest in clinical research or teaching.
