Project Manager


Job Summary

The Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and closing construction projects within defined scope, time, cost, quality, and safety parameters. The role involves coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery in compliance with contractual, technical, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource plans
  • Define project scope, milestones, deliverables, and timelines
  • Ensure projects are executed as per drawings, specifications, and contracts
  • Monitor progress and implement corrective actions when required

Cost & Budget Control

  • Prepare and manage project budgets and cost estimates
  • Track project expenditures and control cost overruns
  • Review contractor bills, variations, and change orders
  • Ensure profitability and financial discipline

Contract & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, engineers, and contractors
  • Manage contracts, subcontracts, and vendor agreements
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular progress reports
  • Handle claims, disputes, and variations professionally

Quality & Safety Management

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, codes, and specifications
  • Implement and monitor QA/QC plans
  • Enforce HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards at site
  • Conduct site inspections and audits

Scheduling & Resource Management

  • Develop and maintain construction schedules (Primavera / MS Project)
  • Allocate manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors effectively
  • Identify and mitigate schedule risks and delays

Risk Management

  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Manage unforeseen site conditions and constraints

Project Close-Out

  • Ensure timely project completion and handover
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning, snag lists, and final documentation
  • Support final billing, completion certificates, and lessons learned

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management / Architecture
  • PMP or similar certification is an advantage

Experience

  • experience in construction project management
  • Experience handling mid-size to large projects (residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure)
  • Strong site execution and coordination experience

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, contracts, and project controls
  • Proficiency in MS Project / Primavera / Excel
  • Sound understanding of budgeting, billing, and scheduling
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
