Job Summary
The Vice President – Manufacturing provides executive leadership over all pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, ensuring safe, compliant, cost-effective, and high-quality production of pharmaceutical products. This role defines manufacturing strategy, drives operational excellence, and ensures full compliance with FDA, cGMP, ICH, WHO-GMP, and global regulatory standards while supporting long-term business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Strategy & Leadership
Define and execute global manufacturing strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
Lead multi-site manufacturing operations and oversee capacity planning and technology upgrades.
Drive digital transformation and automation initiatives.
Operational Excellence
Ensure efficient production, yield optimization, and continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
Establish KPIs for safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity.
Quality & Compliance Oversight
Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with cGMP, FDA, EMA, and global regulatory standards.
Support regulatory audits and ensure inspection readiness.
Financial & Budget Management
Develop and manage manufacturing budgets, CAPEX planning, and cost-control initiatives.
Optimize resource utilization and reduce manufacturing costs.
People & Culture Leadership
Build high-performing leadership teams and succession plans.
Promote safety culture, quality mindset, and employee development.
Supply Chain & Capacity Planning
Coordinate with Supply Chain, QA/QC, Engineering, and Regulatory teams to ensure uninterrupted supply.
Lead capacity expansion and new product commercialization efforts.
Risk Management & Business Continuity
Implement business continuity, disaster recovery, and contingency planning.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
MBA preferred.
Experience:
15+ years of pharmaceutical manufacturing experience.
7+ years in senior leadership/executive roles.
Technical Skills:
Expert knowledge of cGMP, FDA, EMA, ICH, WHO-GMP.
Proven leadership of large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
Leadership Skills:
Strategic vision, change management, and executive communication skills.
Strong financial and operational decision-making abilities.
Working Conditions
