Production Engineer 

About the Job

Magnit Direct Sourcing, on behalf of Toyota, is seeking a Production Engineer for a temporary assignment supporting advanced battery manufacturing operations. This role involves working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment to support equipment installation, commissioning, production trials, and process readiness for new battery production lines.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Collaborate with engineers, construction management, technicians, vendors, and contractors to achieve project milestones

• Support equipment procurement, installation planning, commissioning, and pre-production trials for battery manufacturing lines

• Participate in clean-room protocols and maintain high-level cleanliness standards

• Support manufacturing trials to verify equipment safety, quality, availability, and efficiency

• Identify punch-list items, conduct root-cause analysis, and manage corrective actions

• Summarize KPIs, support mass-production handover, and assist with production-related issues

• Engage with cross-functional teams (domestic & international) to review open items and project schedules

• Create and maintain detailed schedules for assigned equipment and process areas

• Manage budgets for assigned project areas

• Complete required internal and external training programs

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field or 8+ years equivalent experience

• Experience managing production preparation and capital projects from strategy to mass production

• Strong scheduling skills for equipment installation and milestone tracking

• Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings (facility layouts, process equipment, etc.)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25%)

• Availability to work weekends, holidays, and plant shutdown periods (e.g., July & December) as needed
