Operations Manager – Multi-Site Warehouse Operations
Pay Range: $60,000 – $80,000 per year (based on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
Travel: Occasional (training, site visits, company events)
Work Environment: Refrigerated / Cold Storage Warehouse
Job Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of multiple warehouse locations, ensuring strong performance across safety, service, productivity, and profitability. This role partners closely with the General Manager or Director of Operations and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, maintain compliance, and achieve operational and financial objectives.
This is a hands-on, working supervisor role. The operation runs lean, and the Operations Manager must be willing and able to step in on the floor—including operating a forklift—when staffing shortages occur.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations across multiple warehouse locations with focus on safety, service, productivity, and profitability
Lead, coach, and hold warehouse teams accountable for performance, attendance, and policy compliance
Manage operational KPIs, WMS reporting, and productivity metrics; analyze labor trends and drive efficiency improvements
Develop, implement, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety standards
Lead Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve quality
Maintain food safety compliance and audit readiness in food-grade warehouse environments
Ensure accurate payroll processing, timecard approvals, and labor management in coordination with HR
Manage financial performance including labor control, equipment quotes, invoice approvals, revenue/expense tracking, and P&L review
Partner with the Director of Operations on variance analysis and forecasting
Conduct warehouse, inventory, and safety audits to ensure OSHA, customer, and company compliance
Lead onboarding, training, forklift certification, and ongoing employee development
Perform behavior-based safety observations, accident investigations, and corrective action planning
Act as a working supervisor, operating warehouse equipment when needed to support staffing coverage
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of 3PL warehouse management experience
Experience managing multi-site warehouse operations
Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations including pallet-in/pallet-out, pick & pack, fulfillment, and inventory management
Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF/handheld scanners
Hands-on forklift operating experience with ability to obtain Trainer certification
Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma preferred)
Strong leadership, communication, and employee development skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
Ability to work in a refrigerated/cold storage environment
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
Ability to stoop, bend, push, pull, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
Additional Requirements
Must obtain Industrial Truck Certification through in-house training
Must comply with PPE requirements as outlined per facility guidelines
Occasional travel required for training and operational support

Frequent walking, lifting, and equipment operation in a warehouse setting
