Senior Network Engineer / Administrator (Remote, USA)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer / Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This fully remote position is ideal for a proactive professional who excels in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network infrastructures. You will play a critical role in ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of our organization’s network systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless networks to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
• Manage firewalls, VPNs, routers, switches, and other network devices.
• Oversee network security protocols, conduct vulnerability assessments, and implement best practices to safeguard data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and resolve network-related challenges.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Lead network upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery planning.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in network engineering or administration, preferably in a senior or lead capacity.
• Strong expertise in configuring and managing Cisco, Juniper, or similar network hardware.
• Proficiency with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and network security protocols.
• Experience with firewalls, load balancers, and wireless technologies.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Python scripting).
• Exposure to SD-WAN and next-generation firewall technologies.
• Project management experience in network infrastructure projects.
