Job Description:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Genetic Counselor to guide individuals and families in understanding genetic conditions, risks, and testing options. The ideal candidate will provide counseling, interpret genetic test results, and support patients in making informed healthcare decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess family history and genetic risk factors.
• Provide counseling on inherited conditions and genetic disorders.
• Interpret and explain genetic test results to patients.
• Guide patients on testing options, risks, and preventive measures.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop care plans.
• Offer emotional support and resources to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Stay updated with advancements in genetics and genomics.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of genetics, genomics, and hereditary conditions.
• Excellent communication and counseling skills.
• Ability to explain complex medical information clearly.
• Empathy and strong interpersonal skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with genetic testing technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling or related field.
• Certification from a recognized genetic counseling board.
• Experience in clinical or healthcare settings.
• Knowledge of ethical, legal, and social implications of genetic testing.
