# MERN Stack Developer — Job Description
**Role:** MERN Stack Developer
**Experience:** 2–5 years
**Employment:** Full-time
**Location:** Remote / Hybrid
**Compensation:** **$25–45/hour** or approximately **$50K–$90K/year**
## About the Role
We are looking for a skilled **MERN Stack Developer** to build, maintain, and scale modern web applications using **MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js**.
The ideal candidate should have strong JavaScript fundamentals and be capable of working across the entire application stack, from responsive React interfaces to backend APIs and database design.
## Responsibilities
* Develop responsive and scalable web applications using **React.js**.
* Build robust REST APIs using **Node.js and Express.js**.
* Design and optimize **MongoDB** databases and queries.
* Integrate frontend applications with backend services.
* Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access control.
* Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and testable code.
* Debug and resolve application and production issues.
* Optimize application performance and scalability.
* Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
* Write unit and integration tests.
* Work with Git-based development workflows.
* Collaborate with designers, product managers, QA, and other engineers.
* Deploy and maintain applications in cloud environments.

## Compensation
**$25–45/hour**, depending on experience and technical proficiency.
For exceptional candidates with strong **TypeScript, system design, AWS, Docker, and scalable backend architecture** experience, compensation can be higher.
