MERN Stack Developer — Job Description

Role: MERN Stack Developer

Compensation: $25–45/hour or approximately $50K–$90K/year

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled MERN Stack Developer to build, maintain, and scale modern web applications using MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js.

The ideal candidate should have strong JavaScript fundamentals and be capable of working across the entire application stack, from responsive React interfaces to backend APIs and database design.

Responsibilities

Develop responsive and scalable web applications using React.js.

Build robust REST APIs using Node.js and Express.js.

Design and optimize MongoDB databases and queries.

Integrate frontend applications with backend services.

Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access control.

Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and testable code.

Debug and resolve application and production issues.

Optimize application performance and scalability.

Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.

Write unit and integration tests.

Work with Git-based development workflows.

Collaborate with designers, product managers, QA, and other engineers.

Deploy and maintain applications in cloud environments.

Compensation

$25–45/hour, depending on experience and technical proficiency.

For exceptional candidates with strong TypeScript, system design, AWS, Docker, and scalable backend architecture experience, compensation can be higher.
