Test Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Test Engineer to join our QA team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and executing test plans, identifying software defects, and ensuring that applications meet quality, functionality, performance, and reliability standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze software requirements and prepare test scenarios, test cases, and test plans.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, system, and exploratory testing.
• Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using defect-tracking tools.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis for identified defects.
• Maintain clear and accurate test documentation and test reports.
• Participate in requirement and design reviews to identify potential quality issues early.
• Conduct regression testing after bug fixes and new feature releases.
• Support test automation initiatives where applicable.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes.
• Ensure software releases meet defined quality standards before deployment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
• Good understanding of software testing concepts and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Knowledge of different testing methodologies and test levels.
• Experience writing clear and effective test cases.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and database testing.
• Familiarity with defect-tracking and test-management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• High attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with API testing using tools such as Postman.
• Knowledge of automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium.
• Basic programming knowledge in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of performance and security testing concepts.
• Experience working with cloud-based applications.
