Position Title: Patient Access Representative Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite) Pay Rate: $20.00-$24.00/hr Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM Overview: A 400-bed regional medical center is hiring Patient Access Representatives for its outpatient registration department. The role is the first point of contact for arriving patients: verifying demographics and insurance eligibility, collecting co-payments, obtaining signatures on consent and financial-responsibility forms, and registering roughly 40-60 patients per shift in the hospital's EHR. Representatives work alongside clinical staff to keep clinic flow moving and escalate authorization issues to the financial counselling team. Qualifications:
1+ year of patient registration, medical front-office, or healthcare customer service experience.
Working knowledge of insurance verification and eligibility systems.
Experience with an EHR system (Epic or Cerner preferred).
Accurate data entry and comfort handling co-payment collection.
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
