We are looking for a QA Engineer to join our engineering team in New York. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products across web and backend systems.

The ideal candidate has experience with manual testing, test automation, API testing, regression testing, and CI/CD, and is comfortable working closely with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases.
Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.
Develop and maintain automated test suites for web and backend applications.
Test REST APIs and backend services using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar.
Identify, document, troubleshoot, and track software defects.
Work closely with developers to reproduce and resolve issues.
Participate in requirements, design, and code-review discussions from a quality perspective.
Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test data, and QA documentation.
Perform cross-browser and cross-platform testing.
Validate application performance, reliability, and usability.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Analyze test results and provide clear feedback to engineering and product teams.
Help improve QA processes, automation coverage, and overall engineering quality.

Required Qualifications

2+ years of experience in software quality assurance / software testing.
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC.
Experience with manual testing and test case design.
Experience with at least one automation framework such as:
Selenium
Cypress
Playwright
Appium
WebdriverIO
Experience testing REST APIs and backend services.
Familiarity with SQL and databases.
Experience with bug-tracking and test-management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar.
Basic programming/scripting experience in Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#.
Understanding of Git and version-control workflows.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

Experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
Experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Appium.
Experience with API automation.
Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
Experience with Docker or cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Performance/load testing experience using JMeter, k6, Gatling, or similar.
Experience with mobile application testing.
Familiarity with microservices and distributed systems.
Experience with test automation in a production engineering environment.
Knowledge of security, accessibility, or reliability testing.
