Job Profile Summary Position Purpose:Work with the Pharmacists to accurately prepare prescription orders in a timely manner Education/Experience:High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of pharmacy technician or medical office (i.e. biller, coder, office assistance, or prior authorization/certification) experience. Familiarity with drugs commonly used to treat chronic/debilitating illnesses. License/Certification: Pharmacy Technician Certification preferredFoundation Care: Licenses/Certifications: Current Missouri Pharmacy Technician license OR the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hireAcariaHealth and Homescripts: State pharmacy technician license(s) relative to where the employee and assigned pharmacy are located (exception being NY where a pharmacy technician license is not required). License is required upon hire.ResponsibilitiesInteract with various departments to provide accurately dispensed prescriptions on a timely basisWork under direct supervision of a pharmacistLocate correct medication and strength to complete picking of order.Prepare, count, label, and package pharmaceuticals for Pharmacist approvalPurchase, receive and coordinate inventoryMaintain and update inventory recap reportRetrieve discontinued or expired medications from stock; discard or return to stock as appropriate; complete corresponding documentationMaintain prescription logsAccurately calibrate equipment and document calibration according to policyAssist with the maintenance of pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs and documents maintenanceComply with safety, quality assurance, accreditation, legal, state, and federal regulatory requirementsPerforms other duties as assignedComplies with all policies and standards
