Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and energetic Dog Walker to join our team in New York City. The ideal candidate should be comfortable handling dogs of different breeds, sizes, and temperaments while ensuring their safety, exercise, and well-being during walks and visits.
Responsibilities
- Walk dogs individually or in groups based on schedule and temperament
- Ensure dogs receive proper exercise, hydration, and care
- Pick up and dispose of pet waste responsibly
- Follow client instructions related to feeding, medication, and behavior handling
- Maintain punctuality for scheduled walks and visits
- Monitor dogs for signs of illness, stress, or injury and report concerns immediately
- Use pet care apps or internal systems to update walk status and notes
- Maintain professionalism while interacting with pet owners and building staff
- Follow NYC leash laws and pet safety regulations
Requirements
- Prior experience with dogs or pet care preferred
- Comfortable walking multiple dogs in urban environments
- Ability to walk long distances in various weather conditions
- Good communication and time-management skills
- Must be dependable, patient, and attentive
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs if needed
- Smartphone with internet access preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in pet sitting, veterinary assistance, or animal care
- Knowledge of dog behavior and basic first aid
- Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
