Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Department: Inpatient Substance Abuse Treatment (Adults 18+)

Location: Bayard, IA, 50029

Facility Overview:

A 50-bed inpatient treatment center (20 female/30 male) providing voluntary care for adults struggling with substance use. The facility emphasizes compassionate care, structured support, and a safe environment without the use of restraints.

Shift:

• 
  
• 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• 
  
• Weekends as assigned
• 
  
• Every other holiday required
• 
  

Staffing & Support:

• 
  
• 1 LPN on night shift
• 
  
• 2–3 Behavioral Health Associates (BHAs) from 7p–11p
• 
  
• 1 BHA from 11p–7a
• 
  
• Admin and physician on-call suppy.

Responsibilities Include:

• 
  
• Conducting CIWA (alcohol withdrawal) and COWS (opioid withdrawal) assessments
• 
  
• Maintaining firm but empathic boundaries with clients
• 
  
• Collaborating with techs and other staff to ensure client safety
• 
  

Requirements:

• 
  
• Certifications: BLS and CPI
• 
  
• Preferred: Behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience
• 
  

Technology:

• 
  
• EMR system: HCS

• 
  
• 
  
• Additional Details:
• 
  
• 2–3 days of 12-hour orientation shifts until training is complete.
• 
  
•
