Employment Type: Temporary FT/PT: Full-Time Estimated Duration (In months): 10 Min Hourly Rate($): 32.00 Max Hourly Rate($): 33.00 Must Have Skills/Attributes: Data Analysis, NPI - New Product Introduction, PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), Quality Engineer Experience Desired: Work with Production and Engineering to define and communicate supplier quality issues (3 yrs); Assess the impact of issues and coordinate with Suppliers, Planning, and Logistics (3 yrs) Required Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree === JOB DESCRIPTION === Required Education & Experience: • Required: Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent work experience. • Required: 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (internship experience is acceptable). • Ideal Backgrounds: Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Technician. Technical Skills (Required): • Data collection and analysis • Problem-solving and critical thinking • Blueprint reading • Knowledge of gauges and measurements • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) • Knowledge of internal combustion engines Technical Skills (Desired): • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Science • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification Key Responsibilities • Investigate & Communicate: Work with Production and Engineering to define and communicate supplier quality issues to cross-functional teams. • Containment & Risk Mitigation: Assess the impact of issues and coordinate with Suppliers, Planning, and Logistics to mitigate production downtime risks. • Defect Management: Manage the disposition of defective parts and coordinate their return or rework with suppliers and 3rd parties. • Problem Solving Support: Provide factual data to support root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts. • Process & Change Management: Manage supplier deviation/change requests, review supplier PPAPs (Production Part Approval Process), and support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. • Performance & Cost Tracking: Manage supplier performance data and financial chargebacks for costs incurred due to quality issues. Soft Skills: • Required: Positive attitude, calm and patient demeanor, ability to handle urgent issues under stress. Interview Process & Logistics • Interview Rounds: 2 rounds • Interview Format: One virtual/phone screen and one in-person interview with the hiring manager.
