Job Title: Security Engineer

Job Summary:

The Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure IT systems and networks. This role focuses on protecting the organization’s infrastructure from cyber threats by applying security best practices, conducting assessments, and implementing robust security solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement security solutions across networks, applications, and systems.
• Configure and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security tools.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses.
• Monitor security alerts and respond to incidents promptly.
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure secure system architecture.
• Evaluate new security technologies and recommend solutions for improvement.
• Provide guidance and support to other teams on security best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, network protocols, and operating systems.
• Experience with security tools: firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus solutions.
• Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve security issues effectively.
• Understanding of cloud security and encryption technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or CISM.
• Knowledge of scripting/programming languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
• Experience with penetration testing tools and methodologies.
