Software Developer - Backend

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: $115,000 - $140,000 per year, plus annual bonus
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM CT, with an on-call rotation roughly one week in six
Experience Required: 4+ years

Responsibilities:

• Design, build and maintain backend services and REST APIs that support the customer-facing platform.
• Own features end to end, from technical design through release and production support.
• Write and maintain automated tests; keep service coverage above the team's agreed threshold.
• Review colleagues' pull requests and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Diagnose and resolve production incidents during the on-call rotation.
• Work with product managers and designers to refine requirements before build.

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong Python or Java, and solid SQL.
• Production experience with AWS or Azure.
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Able to work the hybrid schedule from Austin, TX.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to Have: Kubernetes, Terraform, event-driven architectures, prior on-call ownership.
