We pride ourselves on our inclusive culture, employee recognition programs, and commitment to work-life balance.Position SummaryThe Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) serves as the face of our organization, interacting directly with patients as part of their healthcare journey. This role is responsible for skillfully and safely drawing blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring all procedures are performed in accordance with established protocols. The ideal candidate will create an atmosphere of trust and confidence, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail.Key Responsibilities- Greet patients and verify their identity in a courteous and professional manner.- Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages (including pediatric and geriatric), ensuring patient comfort and safety.- Prepare and label specimens for laboratory testing, following all established procedures and safety guidelines.- Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and address concerns to ensure a positive patient experience.- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all specimens collected and processed.- Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.- Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy.- Participate in rotational Saturday shifts and be flexible to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.QualificationsEducation:- High school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED)- Medical assistant or paramedic training (Preferred)- Phlebotomy certification (REQUIRED in California)Experience:- Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience (REQUIRED)- One or more years of phlebotomy experience (Preferred)- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment (Preferred)- Keyboard/data entry experience (REQUIRED)Skills & Competencies:- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric draws- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision- Strong interpersonal and communication skills- Commitment to patient care and confidentialityBenefits & Culture- Competitive compensation and shift differentials- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance- Paid time off and holiday pay- Retirement plan options- Employee wellness and recognition programs- Supportive, inclusive, and growth-oriented work environmentJoin our team and make a difference in the lives of our patients every day!
